More confusion re Licences

Growers who started oystering after 1st July 2013 will need a coxswains/certificate of competency.

You will need time on a commercial vessel or time on a recreational vessel. You simply need to supply a statutory declaration stating that you have done the time, you do not need a log book etc to prove it. You can count time spent in someone Else’s boat but they would have to sign the stat dec too. Steve at Maritime Services ph 36327558 is very helpful and will sort it out for you if you have problems getting your time accepted. I suggest you have a chat with him first.

You will have to do a course, I suggest you go to http://amsa.gov.au and click on DOMESTIC all the info you will need is there including training providers. I have no idea of the cost or time involved.
